Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid work with a minimum of four days per week in the New York office, Monday–Thursday.

Salary: $132,200–$187,550 annual compensation range, including base salary and bonus or on-target incentive compensation where applicable.

What you will do

• Design systems and APIs that power hirify.global’s software products.
• Define, develop, and evolve software in an agile environment using modern technologies and infrastructure.
• Build, maintain, and test APIs written primarily in Node.js and hosted on AWS.
• Collaborate with product management to translate requirements into prioritized user stories and deliver them on schedule.
• Write high-quality code focused on application performance and troubleshoot bugs with the appropriate teams.
• Participate in design discussions and grow toward full-stack or full-cycle engineering through React, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in full-stack or backend development, preferably building web services at scale for a SaaS company.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, Nest, modern JavaScript frameworks, and software architecture.
• Expertise in relational databases and schema migrations.
• Significant experience with AWS or comparable cloud technologies.
• Experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks, including React and Redux.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, strong collaboration skills, and a player-coach mindset.

Nice to have

• Interest in mentoring or managing a small team of engineers; previous management experience is not required.
