Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: United States, remote

Salary: $205,000–$230,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own technical strategy across multiple squads and shape lasting architectural decisions for the platform.
• Turn ambiguous technical problems into scalable solutions that engineering teams can execute.
• Build shared systems, platform capabilities, and engineering patterns across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to balance platform health with customer delivery.
• Evolve AI-assisted development practices, engineering standards, and technical decision-making.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, architectural guidance, and cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership across teams and platforms.
• Strong experience designing scalable distributed systems, APIs, data models, and cloud-native architectures.
• Full-stack expertise across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Vite, Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with authentication and authorization technologies including Keycloak, OIDC, SAML, OAuth, ABAC, JWT, and federated identity integrations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity and influence without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Experience in mission-critical or high-compliance domains such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, or DoD environments.
• Experience scaling authentication and identity infrastructure.
• Background in high-growth B2B SaaS environments.
• Familiarity with event-driven and asynchronous system design.
• Experience with enterprise integrations, CSV/Excel/KML importers, PDF exports, secure API gateways, and auditing pipelines.
