Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: United States, remote

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 annually for the Senior Software Engineer level; $205,000–$230,000 annually for the Staff Software Engineer level.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of customer-impacting features and systems across frontend applications, backend services, and infrastructure.
• Design and evolve distributed systems, shared architecture, scalable data models, APIs, and core engineering foundations.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, security, observability, and incident response capabilities.
• Move between squads as priorities change and collaborate with engineers across the organization on technical decisions.
• Define effective use of AI-assisted development while maintaining quality, maintainability, and engineering ownership.
• Build integrations including data importers, PDF exports, secure API gateways, and auditing pipelines for DoD and enterprise systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, REST, GraphQL or gRPC APIs, and scalable data models.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native applications with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Full-stack experience spanning frontend applications, backend services, and infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills and experience delivering complex technical projects in evolving environments.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, incident response, authentication, and identity systems.

Nice to have

• Experience in mission-critical or regulated environments such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, or DoD.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed messaging systems.
• Familiarity with Keycloak, OpenID Connect, SAML, OAuth 2.0, ABAC, JWT, and federated identity providers.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Vite, Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
