Senior Software Engineer (Node)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid work with a minimum of three days per week in the Boston office, Tuesday through Thursday

Salary: $132,200–$187,550 per year, including base salary and bonus or on-target incentive compensation where applicable; equity and comprehensive benefits are also available.

What you will do

• Design systems and APIs powering digital products for consumers and enterprises.
• Define, develop, and evolve software in an agile environment using modern technologies and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain NodeJS APIs hosted in AWS, including testing strategies and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with product management to translate product requirements into prioritized user stories and deliver them to quality and timeline standards.
• Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues and coordinate rapid resolution with the appropriate teams.
• Participate in design discussions and potentially mentor a small team of engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in full-stack or backend development, preferably building web services at scale for a SaaS company.
• Mastery of modern JavaScript frameworks, including NodeJS and NestJS, with a deep understanding of architectural principles and trade-offs.
• Expertise in relational databases and schema migrations.
• Significant experience with AWS or comparable cloud technologies.
• Experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks such as React and Redux.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, strong collaboration skills, and a player-coach mindset.
