Senior Full Stack Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and work-from-home options Monday and Friday

Salary: Base salary starting from $165,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Build and develop APIs, services, data sets, and container-based applications for financial data products.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders and subject matter experts to refine features, user experiences, and product workflows.
• Design solutions for large and complex data sets while improving browser and API performance.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate technical ideas quickly.
• Improve internal tooling, developer experience, codebases, and engineering processes.
• Provide technical leadership and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional full stack programming experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API patterns and their trade-offs.
• Understanding of modern testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing for client-focused applications.
• Experience with software engineering best practices, agile methodologies, coding standards, source management, and testing.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, including Markdown, GitHub READMEs, and architecture design documents.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial data systems, pipelines, and cloud architectures.
• Deep React experience, including hooks, global state management, Next, React Query, and Tailwind.
• Experience with cloud APIs and services, Docker, containers, and ECS.
• Experience maintaining Terraform configurations, Docker containers, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience using AI assistance and identifying opportunities for agentic workflow improvements.
