TL;DR
Senior Staff Engineer, Systems (Autonomy) (MBSE/SysML): Designing and integrating systems architectures for Hivemind Vision and Mission Autonomy solutions in the Australian engineering organization with an accent on requirements engineering, system decomposition, and cross-functional integration. Focus on building SysML models, defining interfaces and functional flows, and connecting system models with codebases for complex autonomy, perception, and mission-level systems.

What you will do

  • Capture end-to-end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions.
  • Support system architecture design across perception, autonomy, and mission-level workflows.
  • Use MBSE tools to document and extend architecture models for integrations, capabilities, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain UML, SysML, and/or UPDM models, including system decomposition, functional flows, interfaces, and system behavior.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to improve modeling tools, automation, and connections between system models and codebases.
  • Coordinate with product, program, engineering, and business development teams while reporting progress, risks, and expectations to leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of systems engineering or related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years with a Master’s degree, 2 years with a PhD, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as systems, software, aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Experience with systems engineering practices, requirements writing and verification, MBSE, and system-modeling workflows.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, and ability to manage detailed technical information.
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian NV1 (Secret) clearance and ability to handle ITAR-controlled and Australian export-controlled technical data.

Nice to have

  • Expertise with Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo APIs, and Velocity Template Language.
  • Experience decomposing requirements and designs for complex hardware/software systems.
  • Experience with autonomy, aircraft systems, perception, unmanned vehicles, or robotic platforms.
