Navigation Solutions Architect (Robotics)

Location: Sydney, Australia. The role may require up to 25% travel to customer sites, with the possibility of travel exceeding 25% for major programs.

What you will do

• Translate customer performance requirements into navigation system architectures and hardware/software configurations.
• Lead the design and architectural validation of solutions tailored to commercial and defense mission profiles.
• Design and execute proof-of-concept projects to validate solution feasibility and effectiveness.
• Act as the primary technical authority for regional sales teams and advise strategic customer accounts on systems integration and performance optimization.
• Conduct technical workshops and deep-dive sessions for major customers.
• Mentor the Application Engineering team and provide regional market insights for product roadmap development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, a master’s degree preferred, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in highly technical, customer-facing, forward-deployed, or deeply embedded engineering roles.
• Expertise in inertial navigation systems, GNSS, fiber optic gyroscopes, and laser and acoustics velocity aiding.
• Experience spanning engineering and commercial disciplines, including sales, mechatronics, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
• Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, national caveat and clearance requirements, configuration and data management, GFI/GFE integration, and multinational matrixed organizations.
• Current or recently lapsed Secret clearance acceptable; Top Secret clearance preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multi-year, multi-phase Programs of Record covering acquisition, cost reduction, and lifecycle upgrades.
• Experience with Python for data analysis.
