Senior Electrical Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Australia, based in Sydney, Hobart, or Launceston; travel of 10–30% is expected during project delivery phases.

What you will do

• Develop electrical, controls, and cabling design documentation from concept through commissioning.
• Perform engineering calculations and create system designs, equipment specifications, capacity requirements, and final equipment selections.
• Qualify, onboard, and coordinate third-party consultants and contractors.
• Review consultant designs, contractor electrical drawings, and equipment selections.
• Participate in site inspections and commissioning of electrical and control systems to verify compliant installation and optimum performance.
• Develop engineering standards, operation and maintenance documentation, and design optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in data centre MEP.
• Strong knowledge of direct current, low-voltage AC, and medium-voltage AC systems and applicable local and international standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams and communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and contribute proactively to engineering and technology initiatives.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Asia-Pacific region and local data centre standards and norms.
