Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there for the first two weeks of onboarding. Applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export-control laws.
Salary: $130,000–$200,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do
- Design fluid and process systems, including piping, valves, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, off-gas, ventilation, filtration, vacuum, and controlled-atmosphere systems.
- Define equipment architectures, specifications, operating modes, performance criteria, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and mass and energy balances.
- Design, assemble, operate, and iteratively refine bench-scale and pilot-scale process prototypes.
- Prepare documentation for system layout, fabrication, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, regulatory filings, and safety analyses.
- Own assigned process systems throughout their lifecycle and collaborate with external vendors on analysis, procurement, and testing.
- Support isotope product requirements and conduct process hazard analyses covering chemical, criticality, radiological, contamination, and abnormal operating risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, nuclear, radiological, materials, aerospace, petroleum, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience designing, analyzing, or modifying fluid, thermal, or process systems and equipment in nuclear, radiopharmaceutical, isotope production, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, systems design and integration, equipment interfaces, and process system operation.
- Ability to work with radioactive materials, chemical separations, gas and liquid handling, thermal management, contamination control, and product quality requirements.
- Must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export-control laws.
- Strong technical writing, communication, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience in nuclear, isotope production, radiopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or related industries.
- Familiarity with radiochemical processing, radiation protection, shielding, contamination control, or ALARA.
- Experience with process prototyping, commissioning, equipment testing, or process system ownership.
