Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Leading budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis for specialty departments with an accent on variance analysis, headcount planning, and expense management. Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, MI or Chicago, IL
Salary: $90,000–$122,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning for assigned specialty departments.
- Perform actual-to-budget, actual-to-forecast, and year-over-year variance analysis with executive-level commentary.
- Partner with department leaders on headcount planning, hiring decisions, and expense management.
- Track cost-reduction initiatives and savings realization across supported functions.
- Build financial models, business cases, dashboards, and reporting tools for decision-making.
- Improve reporting automation, finance processes, and use of planning and analytics tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 3–5 years of experience supporting financial planning and analysis activities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and handle confidential information professionally.
- Comfort with an on-site presence is required to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
Nice to have
- Prior insurance industry experience.
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems and tools such as Workday ERP and Office Connect.
