GIS Specialist

Location: Remote; compensation varies for US residents, Canadian residents, and other countries

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 USD annually for US residents; $72,000–$82,000 CAD annually for Canadian residents

What you will do

• Manage the internal GIS ticket queue and investigate address availability and data-quality issues using maps, plant drawings, aerial imagery, and street photographs.
• Add new addresses and verify partner address releases, service records, invoices, and delivery batches.
• Ingest and maintain as-built records from partner and organic construction in IQGeo and other systems of record.
• Convert CAD records into structured data and update network data after plant moves, new construction, and other physical changes.
• Support twice-yearly FCC reporting, ingest public FCC data, and generate reports for internal stakeholders using database queries and geospatial tools.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Applied Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with GIS, AutoCAD, or network documentation systems.
• 2+ years of experience with spatial data, data entry, and data conversion.
• Experience with IQGeo and SQL queries, especially PostGIS.
• Strong attention to detail, independent working ability, and demonstrated project management skills.
• Programming experience with Go, Python, and PostGIS is an asset.

Nice to have

• GIS/CAD industry certifications and training.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
