Staff Ecoengineer III (Civil Engineering)

What you will do

• Develop site grading and habitat restoration designs using AutoDesk Civil 3D and related tools.
• Prepare construction-ready plans, specifications, cost estimates, and basis of design reports.
• Support hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses and modeling for design development.
• Create surfaces and terrain models from point clouds and topographic and bathymetric survey data.
• Participate in field reconnaissance, surveys, data collection, construction observation, site visits, and construction-phase support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders on restoration projects and technical proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, biological, ecological, environmental, or related engineering, hydrology, water resources, or fluvial geomorphology.
• 5–7 years of applied design and drafting experience.
• Proficiency with AutoDesk Civil 3D and site grading design.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through 100% design.
• Experience preparing construction documents, developing surfaces from point clouds and survey data, and supporting construction activities.
• Strong communication, time management, and ability to work within defined scope, schedule, and budget.

Nice to have

• California professional civil engineer license, ability to obtain it through reciprocity, or Engineer-in-Training status.
• Experience with aquatic habitat restoration in streams, rivers, floodplains, wetlands, estuaries, or salmonid habitats.
• Familiarity with open-channel hydraulics, HEC-RAS or similar hydraulic modeling tools, and geomorphic and sediment transport processes.
• GIS experience, geographic transformations, and field data analysis and reporting.
