Director, Analytics Engineering

Location: Remote within the United States and Canada; travel for in-person engagement may be required.

Annual base salary: USD 204,000–306,000 for US-based roles; CAD 200,000–300,000 for Canada-based roles. Additional benefits include equity and incentive programs where applicable.

What you will do

• Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for the analytics engineering function, including data models, semantic layers, BI tooling, and pipeline infrastructure.
• Hire, manage, and develop analytics engineers while establishing career ladders, leveling expectations, and performance practices.
• Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment, and data quality.
• Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL, and help troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM leaders to turn business priorities into a clear data platform roadmap.
• Build governed, reliable data foundations that support company-wide decision-making, AI initiatives, and Generative BI experiences.

Requirements

• Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture, including leading and developing teams.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience, including advanced data modeling, incremental processing, testing, documentation, and multi-environment deployment.
• Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, including Kimball or star schema approaches, in complex B2B SaaS environments.
• Experience with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift, including performance, cost, and scalability decisions.
• Experience establishing semantic layer strategies and trusted metric definitions across an organization.
• Ability to translate complex business priorities into a data platform roadmap and communicate with senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD, orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect, and AI-assisted analytics engineering workflows.
