Director, Analytics Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada; travel for department offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events may be required.

Annual base salary: $204,000–$306,000 USD for US-based roles or $200,000–$300,000 CAD for Canada-based roles, plus benefits, equity, and applicable incentive programs.

What you will do

• Own the vision, roadmap, architecture, and execution of the analytics engineering function.
• Lead core data models, semantic layers, business intelligence tooling, and pipeline infrastructure.
• Hire, manage, and develop analytics engineers while establishing career ladders, leveling expectations, and performance practices.
• Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment, and data quality.
• Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL, and troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM leaders to build governed data foundations for decision-making, AI initiatives, and Generative BI.

Requirements

• Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture, including leading and developing teams.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience covering advanced data modeling, incremental processing, testing, documentation, and multi-environment deployment.
• Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, including Kimball or star schema approaches, in complex B2B SaaS environments.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift and decisions involving performance, cost, and scale.
• Experience establishing semantic layer strategies and trusted metric definitions across an organization.
• Experience with CI/CD, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, and AI-assisted analytics engineering workflows, plus the ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.

• Experience building data foundations for AI and Generative BI experiences.
• Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and adapting to change.
