Senior Data Engineer (Insurtech)

Location: Remote within the listed U.S. states; remote technical positions in Canada are limited to Ontario. Candidates must be able to live and work full-time in an eligible location.

Salary: $131,950–$153,026 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable production data pipelines and models for analytics and enterprise reporting.
• Own the modeling layer between raw source systems and analytics, BI, Finance, Marketing, and Product stakeholders.
• Implement data validation, testing, QA standards, access controls, and monitoring.
• Partner with App Engineering to define how source data is captured and modeled downstream.
• Translate ambiguous reporting needs into well-modeled, analytics-ready datasets.
• Mentor data engineers and use AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, code quality, and observability.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or dimensional modeling.
• Advanced SQL and experience transforming multiple data sources into a scalable warehouse or lakehouse.
• Proficiency in Python, including Pandas and NumPy, for data transformation and pipeline development.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling, ELT workflows, and modern data architecture patterns.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
