Senior Data Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: US, Remote. US citizenship and the ability to gain and maintain a TS Security clearance are required. Some roles may require regular in-office presence at the Chicago office, but this position is listed as remote.

Base salary: $199,750–$235,000 annually, plus equity in the form of stock options.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain business-critical data ingestion and processing pipelines using AWS Glue and Spark.
• Build and operate the data warehouse, workflow orchestration, and Tableau-based BI platform across multiple regions.
• Evaluate and shape warehouse and lakehouse strategy, including platforms such as Databricks.
• Define batch and event-driven data contracts, making decisions around streaming, CDC, reprocessing, and multi-tenant or multi-region architecture.
• Design warehouse schemas and data models, and add observability to pipelines and platform components.
• Coordinate with producer and consumer teams while owning outcomes end to end.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend software engineering.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data architecture, batch and streaming systems, CDC, event contracts, multi-tenant platforms, multi-region deployments, reprocessing, and observability.
• Strong SQL, Python, data modeling, software engineering, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience owning production data infrastructure end to end and working across dependent teams.
• Experience with cloud data platforms or distributed processing such as AWS Glue, Databricks, Snowflake, or Spark; Tableau or comparable BI tools; and Airflow, Dagster, or similar orchestration tools.
• US citizenship and the ability to gain and maintain a TS Security clearance are required. Experience working within US Government enclaves from FedRAMP through TS cloud environments is required.
