What you will do

• Lead the strategic direction and operations of the Digital Engineering department across multiple development and technology streams.
• Guide the architecture, development, and operation of cloud-native platforms and applications at scale on Azure and AKS.
• Oversee service mesh, ingress and edge traffic management, policy-as-code, API Gateway, and relational data platform initiatives.
• Manage multiple cost-center budgets, project plans, staffing decisions, compliance, risk, and delivery performance.
• Direct system design and implementation, ensuring scalability, security, architectural soundness, and alignment with technology standards.
• Develop team capabilities and career plans while partnering with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and technology managers.

Requirements

• At least 13 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 4 years in technology or systems and 9 years in technology management or program leadership with people management.
• Production-scale Azure and AKS experience, with knowledge of Istio, Envoy, Open Policy Agent, PostgreSQL, and API Gateway patterns.
• Background in Java, .NET, or C# development and strong understanding of software architecture and system design trade-offs.
• Experience with generative AI, agentic software development, Agile, and Kanban methodologies.
• Experience leading multiple complex projects and teams across different geographic locations and time zones.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, decision-making, and senior-management presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Deep hands-on experience architecting and operating large-scale Azure/AKS systems with service mesh and policy-as-code.
• Advanced knowledge of integrated applications, business functions, and the bank’s application framework.
• Experience shaping technology direction and mentoring leaders from a project-management perspective.
