Head of IT (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Greenwood Village/Denver, United States; hybrid work with onsite attendance required three days per week, Tuesday–Thursday.

Salary: $170,000–$234,000 base salary per year, plus bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Define and execute enterprise technology strategy, architecture roadmaps, and the technical operating model across engineering, cloud, data, integrations, IT operations, and end-user technology.
• Lead software developers, technical leads, systems analysts, infrastructure and support resources, contractors, vendors, and external technology partners.
• Modernize and support internal and enterprise platforms, including PortLA, WebLA, QlikView, Dynamics CRM, Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, and .NET-based applications.
• Establish architecture, engineering, security, documentation, change management, and operational standards.
• Drive Agile delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and service reliability.
• Partner with business and executive stakeholders on technology risks, budgets, compliance, architecture decisions, and long-term technical priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of progressive technology experience across software engineering, application architecture, cloud platforms, infrastructure, IT operations, enterprise applications, and end-user technology.
• 10+ years of people leadership experience building and coaching high-performing technical teams.
• Hands-on expertise in software development, full-stack application concepts, system and cloud architecture, integrations, APIs, data platforms, automation, DevOps, and secure systems delivery.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics CRM, .NET-based applications, identity and access management, cybersecurity, compliance, audit readiness, and data governance.
• Strong executive communication, technical judgment, budget management, vendor management, and ability to resolve complex technical issues.

Nice to have

• Advanced technical degree.
• Experience with analytics, reporting, workflow automation, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Knowledge of SOC 1, SOX, internal controls, and audit processes.
• Experience with IP licensing, patent licensing, royalty management, financial systems, or transaction-based business processes.
