Technical Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment; employment sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $160,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate engineering delivery across Product Engineering, Quality Engineering, SRE, Release Management, Product, Architecture, TPM, Security, and Operations.
• Contribute hands-on for 20–30% of the time by writing and reviewing code, debugging complex issues, designing APIs, and delivering scalable platform services.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, and develop software engineers while setting performance goals and evaluating individual and team metrics.
• Design and evolve system architecture, influence the product roadmap, reduce technical debt, and introduce modern technologies and development practices.
• Define and track engineering KPIs, manage priorities and resources, and improve delivery quality, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Oversee on-call incidents, drive root-cause analysis, and resolve critical disruptions to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software development or related engineering fields and 5+ years managing engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with several of .NET, Java, C#, Linux containers, Kubernetes, MVC, SaaS, SOA, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, modern JavaScript frameworks, Entity Framework, or microservices.
• Experience delivering SaaS products using modern system architecture, microservices, cloud-native applications, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of operational excellence, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and tools such as Grafana, New Relic, or Haystack.
• Experience with event-driven and batch processing of high-volume transactions, scalable operationally efficient systems, and role-based access and entitlement systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage concurrent workstreams, communicate with senior stakeholders, and apply Lean-Agile methods such as Kanban or Scrum.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, digital banking, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of treasury management, cash positioning, liquidity management, commercial payments, reconciliation, and banking formats including ISO 20022, BAI2, MT940, and EDI 820.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
