Senior Maintenance Supervisor (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Aurora, Illinois, United States; facility-based role supporting a three-shift manufacturing operation

Salary: $91,000–$114,000 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Supervise maintenance technicians and electricians across all shifts, maintaining staffing coverage and providing technical guidance.
• Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop maintenance team members while managing payroll, time records, and time-off requests.
• Build and publish rolling weekly and monthly schedules for preventive maintenance, corrective work, and projects.
• Review, prioritize, assign, and track work orders, managing backlog aging and escalating overdue work.
• Coordinate parts kitting, tools, documentation, contractors, and downtime windows with production, operations, quality, and engineering.
• Own maintenance KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives covering safety, 5S, ergonomics, sustainability, efficiency, OEE, inventory, and budget control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; chemical, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering education is a plus.
• At least five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical or specialty materials manufacturing.
• Strong experience with maintenance management systems, especially SAP-PM and Ariba; Reliance ETQ is a plus.
• Experience with maintenance planning and scheduling, work order management, job plan development, backlog management, and preventive or predictive maintenance.
• Leadership, problem-solving, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills across cross-functional teams and multiple shifts.
• Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment, lift up to 25 lbs, adapt to schedule changes, and respond to off-shift operational needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Six Sigma.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering.
• Experience with Reliance ETQ.
