Chemical Manufacturing Engineer

Location: On-site in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, United States

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 USD per year, plus eligibility for bonus pay

What you will do

• Design, implement, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for chemical mixing and filling lines.
• Lead the planning, budgeting, execution, installation, and commissioning of capital projects supporting manufacturing growth, automation, infrastructure, and facility improvements.
• Lead, coach, and develop the site’s Maintenance Technician while setting priorities, standard work, and accountability.
• Develop maintenance strategies, spare-parts plans, asset documentation, equipment lifecycle plans, procedures, and engineering standards.
• Improve equipment uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, safety, quality, productivity, and operating costs through continuous improvement and engineering solutions.
• Support troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, EHS compliance, vendor and contractor relationships, and facility maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in packaging, filling, chemical processing, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
• Experience developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Experience leading capital investment projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Experience leading maintenance personnel or technical teams with a focus on coaching and accountability.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls, industrial automation, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, TPM, RCM, or Six Sigma.

Nice to have

• Experience with manufacturing infrastructure, facility systems, CMMS, and maintenance planning.
• Experience implementing automation or Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and industrial safety standards.
