Entry Level Machinist (Sheet Metal Laser Operator)

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting, Timesaver, waterjet, Bridgeport mill, tapping, and deburring equipment.
• Read blueprints and engineered drawings to produce sheet-metal parts to precise specifications.
• Load, unload, store, and move raw materials using storage racks, vacuum lifts, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality-at-the-source checks, precision measurements, and production-order labor recording.
• Confirm, tag, and stage completed parts in SAP while maintaining clean work areas to 5S standards.
• Follow assigned priorities, safety procedures, quality standards, and overtime requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineered drawings and use micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments.
• Numeracy skills, basic machine setup knowledge, and ability to work with imperial and metric measurements.
• SAP experience and basic understanding of lean manufacturing.
• Ability to load and unload materials, prioritize work, solve problems, multitask, and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, push, and pull for extended periods, occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
