Senior CNC Machinist

Location: Binghamton, New York, United States of America; onsite machine-shop role

Starting salary: $23.80–$32.20 per hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC machines, manual equipment, machine tools, and shop equipment with minimal supervision.
• Manufacture intricate machined parts, precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and assemblies to exact specifications.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, sketches, dimensions, and machining symbols.
• Select cutting tools and optimize stock removal, speeds, feeds, tool life, and production quality.
• Analyze tool performance, correct malfunctions, verify dimensional accuracy, and maintain equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and assist with training less experienced machinists and trainees.

Requirements

• Ability to program, set up, and operate CNC machines and set up and operate manual shop equipment.
• At least five years of machining experience and strong shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Broad knowledge of materials used in machine building, including machining and heat-treatment properties.
• Knowledge of cutting speeds, feed rates, tools, machines, and related charts and tables.
• Ability to grind cutting tools and manufacture machine parts, tools, jigs, and fixtures from drawings or instructions.
• Mechanical ability, manual dexterity, physical stamina for standing, and adherence to machine-shop safety requirements.
