Customer Specialist (Customs)

What you will do

• Analyze import and export customs-clearance processes, identify operational pain points, and introduce digitalization and AI technologies to improve efficiency.
• Establish standardized customs operating procedures and ensure accurate customs data management.
• Build a global customs knowledge system and digital compliance framework, including HS code classification rules and decision-making processes.
• Monitor customs-policy changes, assess risks, develop response plans, and support emergency handling to protect business continuity.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, customs brokers, and freight forwarders to resolve clearance issues and improve service quality.
• Research global customs policies and industry standards and adjust customs strategies to maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Experience or expertise in customs operations, import and export processes, or international supply-chain compliance.
• Knowledge of customs-clearance procedures, HS code classification, customs data, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to analyze operational risks, develop response plans, and optimize standardized processes.
• Ability to collaborate with customs authorities, brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.
• Full-time employment in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
