Electrical Engineer - High voltage (f/m/x)

Location: Munich, Germany; willingness to travel for on-site experimental campaigns is required.

What you will do

• Design, build, wire, assemble, and integrate low- and high-voltage electrical control cabinets and electromechanical systems.
• Create EPLAN schematics, terminal diagrams, cable lists, bills of materials, test procedures, and compliance documentation.
• Perform electrical risk assessments and define mitigation measures in accordance with German and European safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and experimental physics teams to translate system requirements into robust electrical solutions.
• Participate in design reviews covering cabinet layout, protection concepts, grounding, EMC, and industrial best practices.
• Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and workshop activities for experimental campaigns.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as an electrical or mechatronics technician, or a degree in electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting low- and high-voltage control cabinets.
• Proficiency with EPLAN and electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal diagrams, cable routing, and compliance records.
• Knowledge of DIN VDE 0100, DIN EN 61439, DIN EN 60204-1, DIN EN 50178, and DGUV Vorschrift 3.
• Experience with power distribution, protection concepts, grounding, EMC, PLCs, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, safety devices, and field instrumentation.
• Professional proficiency in English is required; willingness to travel and support on-site activities is required.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• Knowledge of PCB and electrical circuit design according to IEC 61191-1 and DIN EN 60204-1.
• Understanding of machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
