Focus on integrating actuators, sensors, pneumatics, and motion components, troubleshooting production systems, and improving reliability, manufacturability, and maintainability.

Location: Primarily onsite in Austin, Texas, United States; work is split between the office, design environment, shop floor, and lab. Occasional travel of approximately 20% may be required. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year, plus potential bonus and stock awards.

Company

hirify.global develops materials science, engineering, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment used in advanced chips and displays.

What you will do

  • Design custom fixturing, tooling, end-of-arm tooling, material handling systems, and automation station layouts using Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks.
  • Develop 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and design change records.
  • Build, prototype, assemble, test, integrate, install, and commission mechanical and electro-mechanical automation systems.
  • Integrate actuators, sensors, pneumatics, linear motion components, robotics, controls, and software layers.
  • Troubleshoot failures during integration and production ramp, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with program and engineering managers, controls engineers, software developers, vendors, and system integrators on project execution and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • 4–8 years of experience in mechanical design and hands-on system integration, preferably in automation, capital equipment, or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Experience designing and building custom fixturing, tooling, or automation equipment, including electro-mechanical systems with actuators, sensors, linear motion, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and create engineering drawings with GD&T, perform tolerance stack-ups and load calculations, and apply DFM and DFA principles.
  • Ability to work onsite in Austin and in shop-floor and lab environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cleanroom environments or cleanroom compatibility requirements.
  • Robotic integration experience, including EOAT design for collaborative or industrial robots.
  • Exposure to PLC, sensors, and I/O concepts.
  • Experience with FAT/SAT and equipment commissioning.
  • Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, component sourcing, and vendor management.

Culture & Benefits

  • Supportive environment focused on learning, professional development, and career growth.
  • Health and wellbeing programs and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities to contribute to semiconductor manufacturing and advanced technology.
  • Approximately 20% travel for commissioning and vendor coordination.
