Program Manager III (Aerospace) (Defense and National Security): Managing aerospace and defense programs across execution, schedules, budgets, deliverables, risks, and customer communications with an accent on DoD propulsion programs, subcontract management, and program control documentation. Focus on maintaining Integrated Master Schedules and Plans, Earned Value Management, managing large subcontracts, and briefing customers and executives on program status and risks.
Location: Onsite or hybrid based in Reno, Nevada; the posting also lists Folsom, California and U.S. remote salary ranges. Travel up to 25% within the continental United States.
Base salary: $120,400–$197,000 USD annually.

What you will do
- Manage all phases of aerospace and defense program execution, maintaining scope, schedules, budgets, and project-level profit and loss.
- Develop and review program management documentation, including monthly status reports, program plans, CDRLs, and PDR/CDR materials.
- Coordinate engineering, production, manpower, facilities, and subcontractor resources to meet program deliverables.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve program risks and issues in collaboration with Voyager management.
- Serve as the primary customer contact and participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving sessions.
- Support proposals for follow-on work and ensure adherence to internal program management processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of program management experience, including seven years managing Department of Defense propulsion-related programs.
- Direct experience owning Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management.
- Experience managing large subcontracts and programs for U.S. government customers.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, and hold a current DoD Secret Clearance.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience managing rocket propulsion defense system programs or Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements.
- Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.
- Experience with Integrated Program Management Tools and basic knowledge of solid rocket motor design and operation.
