Sr. Java Software Engineer

Salary: USD 145,000–155,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and evolve Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Lead architecture and design decisions for scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable distributed systems.
• Drive cross-team technical initiatives, resolve dependencies, and influence implementation without direct authority.
• Remain hands-on with coding, design reviews, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Define automated unit, integration, and system testing strategies and improve software quality standards.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps teams, and engineering leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on Java enterprise application development.
• Production experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, relational or NoSQL databases, and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, software design patterns, distributed systems, automated testing, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native deployment models, cross-team technical leadership, and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, plus knowledge of agentic workflows, spec-driven development, and prompt engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native design patterns.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, high-availability platforms, and architecture standards spanning multiple teams.
