Sr. Software Development Engineer (AI/AWS)

Location: Bellevue, WA, United States. Local employees and those living near Bellevue or New York offices work hybrid, coming into the office 1–3 days per week; employees located farther from the offices may work fully remotely. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and transfer of employment visa sponsorship are not available.

Salary: $136,100–$165,802 USD annually, plus equity and applicable bonuses or overtime.

What you will do

• Design extensible, testable domains and shareable codebases used across multiple engineering projects.
• Make architectural decisions, modernize legacy services, and develop high-availability APIs and reliable database operations.
• Build and maintain observable, performant, and cost-efficient data pipelines using Apache Airflow DAGs and Snowflake.
• Develop automation systems, debug complex CI/CD issues, and implement secure deployment strategies for high-risk projects.
• Apply platform engineering practices to improve developer experience, infrastructure abstraction, self-service capabilities, and operational efficiency.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, coordinate with stakeholders, and promote AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• Significant software development experience and experience leading small-to-medium technical initiatives.
• Expert knowledge of AWS, including S3, Lambda, EC2, and IAM.
• Professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Snowflake, RabbitMQ or a similar message broker, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with platform engineering, internal developer experience, infrastructure abstraction, and self-service capabilities.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and LLMs such as Kiro, Gemini, Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
• Existing United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform and CircleCI.
• Experience identifying incident trends and implementing broad systemic solutions.
