Sr. Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; telecommuting or working from home may be permitted under company policy, with a hybrid working policy applicable.

Salary: $199,244–$208,700 per year, plus potential bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop a mission-critical data activation platform.
• Build real-time distributed systems optimized for low latency, high throughput, and high availability.
• Develop data pipelines, real-time data flows, stream processing, and distributed data services.
• Use AWS services and manage DynamoDB, S3, SQS, and IAM components.
• Implement observability with CloudWatch, DataDog, and Grafana.
• Deliver reliable services through CI/CD, caching, automated testing, and modular application design.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of experience designing and developing real-time distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, including DynamoDB, S3, SQS, and IAM.
• Proficiency with Java or Kotlin and Spring frameworks, including Spring Boot and Spring Actuator.
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, Flink, Spark, MySQL, Redis, and Aerospike.
• Experience with Guice or Spring dependency injection, TDD, JUnit, Mockito, monitoring, and CI/CD infrastructure.
