Auto Claims Specialist (Remote)

Location: United States; remote position supporting the Northeast region, with preference for candidates residing in that area

Salary: USD $83,000–$108,000 per year

What you will do

• Handle non-litigated and lower-level litigated auto and general liability claims from initial investigation through resolution.
• Investigate coverage, liability, damages, and potential comparative or contributory negligence through communication with claimants, attorneys, insureds, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within delegated authority, including issuing payments, denials, releases, and coverage or status letters.
• Review litigation materials, medical reports, expert opinions, depositions, and attorney evaluations to assess claim value and exposure.
• Coordinate counsel, medical experts, examinations, settlement conferences, depositions, and trials when necessary.
• Maintain accurate claim files, reserves, expenses, documentation, and fraud referrals in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of auto claim handling experience preferred.
• Bodily Injury experience is required.
• Experience handling commercial and personal lines.
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, judgment, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and use standard business-related software with moderate proficiency.
• College degree and industry training or designations are preferred.
