Location: Remote-field position servicing Cleveland, Ohio; candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the territory. Work is performed from home and through in-person field assignments using a mobile office/vehicle. Travel outside the assigned territory, flexible shifts, overtime, and irregular hours may be required.
Salary: $66,071.85–$101,450 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do
- Review residential and commercial injury claims with exposures up to $500,000 to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
- Conduct field investigations by gathering documentation, interviewing involved parties, and completing customer-facing assignments.
- Evaluate medical records, police reports, policy terms, and other documentation to assess injuries, coverage, and liability.
- Negotiate and settle claims within policy limits, company guidelines, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
- Document claim activity, prepare reports, and collaborate with policyholders, agents, legal, medical, risk, vendors, and defense counsel.
- Handle lawsuits, demands, legal appearances, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials when required.
Requirements
- Prior claim handling experience, including damage assessment, repair cost estimation, and settlement negotiation.
- Experience with claims management software and the ability to work across multiple technical platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, decision-making, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and emotionally challenging investigations involving traumatic injury or loss of life.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, inspect roofs at various heights, and crawl in tight spaces.
- Valid driver's license required; required training, proficiency and licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, and background checks must be completed.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with bodily injury, property damage liability, and uninsured or underinsured motorist claims.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, laws, statutes, and regulations.
- Litigation experience, including in-person court appearances, trials, settlement conferences, or mediations.
