Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster (Insurance)

Location: Tampa, FL, United States; hybrid role with three days in-office per week after orientation and up to four days in-office during the six-month training period. Core hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM EST, with possible early or late shifts based on business needs.

Salary: $72,000–$96,000 per year. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is also offered.

What you will do

• Guide policyholders, claimants, and other parties through the claims process while providing high-quality customer service.
• Investigate claims, confirm coverage and policy provisions, assess liability, and determine legal responsibility.
• Evaluate bodily injury damages, identify potential fraud indicators, adjust reserves, and authorize payments within assigned authority.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys from representation through settlement or verdict.
• Maintain compliance with insurance guidelines and requirements and request additional authority for evaluations above assigned limits.
• Communicate high-exposure or unusual-loss findings to claims management and participate in claims forums.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of highly successful bodily injury claims handling experience.
• Prior private passenger automotive liability claims experience is required.
• Active adjuster license at the time of hire.
• Customer service, written and verbal communication, negotiation, organization, judgment, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to follow Department of Insurance guidelines and insurance code requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and the ability to work in a high-volume environment.
