Senior Engineer, Platform Tooling (LogicMonitor)

Location: Remote within the Continental United States; 5% travel required.

What you will do

• Manage and maintain internal and client-facing monitoring and observability platforms.
• Troubleshoot monitoring devices and infrastructure through SNMP, WMI, Syslog, APIs, and related integrations.
• Own assigned incidents and service tickets through resolution while meeting defined SLAs.
• Adjust thresholds, develop customizations, test new features, and support production implementations.
• Document incidents, procedures, services, and best practices for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide rotating emergency on-call support and coordinate with clients, engineering teams, management, and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in IT operations, NOC, managed services, infrastructure operations, or monitoring and observability.
• At least 2 years of experience with LogicMonitor, including writing custom LogicModules.
• Knowledge of TCP, UDP, IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, VMware ESXi, enterprise networking, and storage monitoring.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Unix-like operating systems.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Groovy, and/or Bash, plus experience with log handling, parsing, and enrichment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cribl Stream or Cribl Edge.
• Experience with monitoring platforms such as Nagios, NetXMS, Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or comparable tools.
• Cisco or other relevant engineering certifications.
• Experience operating in multi-vendor environments and escalating high-impact operational issues.
