Legal Counsel - US Government

Location: New York, NY; hybrid work. Strong preference for candidates based in DC or NY. Hybrid options typically involve working from home one or two days per week.

Salary: $170,000–$240,000 per year, plus potential restricted stock units, sign-on bonus, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Advise on hirify.global’s relationships with US government customers and support federal business goals.
• Draft and negotiate complex contracts, license agreements, and services agreements.
• Advise on product development, compliance, intellectual property, data privacy, conflicts of interest, and employment matters.
• Develop strategies for managing and resolving government inquiries, litigation, and regulatory requests.
• Provide strategic counsel to business teams and collaborate across legal and other functions on complex projects.

Requirements

• J.D. degree and an active bar license.
• 3 to 10+ years of firm, in-house, or government legal experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, writing, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to propose creative solutions to novel issues and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
• Active security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.

Nice to have

• Experience with government contracting, software licensing, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience monitoring federal legislative and regulatory developments and advising internal stakeholders.
• Prior government experience involving policy development, especially AI policy, or regulatory processes.
