Associate Counsel (AI)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; based at headquarters with in-office attendance 5 days per week

Salary: $125,000–$250,000 USD annually, plus potential discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Partner with global marketing on legal reviews of promotional campaigns, public disclosures, and brand collateral.
• Advise on consumer protection and advertising law compliance.
• Support complex enterprise contract reviews involving corporate security, data privacy, and cloud infrastructure.
• Draft and negotiate specialized security, data, and AI contract clauses.
• Evaluate legal risks, regulatory developments, and data compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• At least 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney in-house or in a corporate counsel setting at a technology company.
• Experience with marketing compliance, data privacy, or information security frameworks.
• Ability to work onsite at the McLean headquarters 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Technical background and understanding of software.
• Experience with AI technology in legal or software contexts.
• Familiarity with global security and privacy frameworks.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating DPAs, Security Addendums, and legal terms for AI system deployment.
