Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; hybrid schedule with four days onsite and one day remote

Salary: $94,610–$130,090 USD per year

What you will do

• Prepare journal entries, sub-ledger-to-GL reconciliations, close schedules, checklists, and supporting workpapers.
• Maintain standard cost records and analyze work orders, inventory valuation, purchase price variance, absorption, and COGS.
• Own reconciliations for raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, and other cost accounts.
• Validate inventory movements and production data against ERP records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Track freight, duties, and outside processing costs while supporting ERP development, testing, and validation.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Program Management, and IT to improve data quality, controls, and standardized processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2–4 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing accounting.
• Understanding of inventory flows, standard costing, PPV, and COGS recognition in an ERP environment.
• Independent experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and close workpapers.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and structured reconciliation models.
• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls and eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, hardware, aerospace, or other complex operational environments.
• Experience with manual or semi-manual ERP accounting workflows and process standardization.
• Knowledge of PPV, absorption, WIP accounting, and standard cost systems.
• Oracle Fusion experience.
