Cost Accounting Lead (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Design and continuously improve cost analysis frameworks for direct and indirect costs.
• Develop cost reporting and variance analysis for accurate, timely management decisions.
• Evaluate cost structures, data flows, reporting, processes, methodologies, and controls, implementing improvements where needed.
• Prepare cost reports, financial statements, forecasts, annual operating budgets, and project or product-line feasibility analyses.
• Maintain annual standard costs, work order settlements, cross-company transactions, inventory valuation, and cost of goods manufactured reporting.
• Partner with production, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to strengthen cost controls and purchasing practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree and/or CMA is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
• Experience designing, implementing, or substantially improving cost accounting and reporting processes.
• Strong knowledge of variance analysis, standard costing, inventory accounting, cycle count reporting, US GAAP, and cost accounting principles.
• Advanced analytical, communication, and execution skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Epicor.
