Accounting Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own inventory and cost accounting for contract manufacturing and consignment arrangements, including standard costing, purchase price variance analysis, overhead absorption, and inventory reserves.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and variance reporting.
• Prepare revenue recognition entries under ASC 606 and lease accounting entries under ASC 842.
• Support financial statement preparation, external audits, audit documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries.
• Mentor direct reports and partner with Supply Chain, FP&A, Legal, and other stakeholders on accounting treatment and process improvements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with contract manufacturing and consignment inventory accounting in a manufacturing or hardware environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accruals, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Experience with SPV accounting, standalone entity reporting, month-end close, balance-sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, and intermediate to advanced Excel.
• Experience communicating financial concepts to non-finance partners and mentoring, coaching, or managing direct reports.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, initiative, adaptability, confidentiality, and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with FloQast, BlackLine, Salesforce, or Boomi.
• Technical accounting analysis and memorandum-writing experience.
• Manufacturing or electrification industry experience.
• Public accounting experience or CPA certification.
