Cost Analyst (Cost Accounting)

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain standard costs in SAP for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Manage periodic cost updates, track variances, and communicate cost impacts to senior management.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and FP&A teams to analyze historical costs and explain budgets versus standards versus actuals.
• Participate in month-end and quarter-end close activities, including flux explanations and quarterly inventory reserve analysis.
• Conduct inventory valuation and reconciliation, including cycle counts and obsolescence reviews.
• Improve cost accounting processes, reporting, automation, and system efficiency through UAT and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CMA is preferred.
• 3–5+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in complex, multi-plant manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when working with complex datasets in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
