Supervisor, Composites (Aerospace)

Location: On-site manufacturing environment with 2nd shift operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected individual status, or eligibility for required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required for ITAR compliance.

What you will do

• Lead a production team of technicians manufacturing advanced composite aerospace structures.
• Coordinate resources, shift handovers, readiness checks, schedules, and recovery plans to meet production objectives.
• Monitor floor operations, verify adherence to work instructions, and resolve production issues with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Manage technician schedules, PTO, timecards, skills matrices, staffing needs, and training requirements.
• Promote safe work practices and enforce internal, external, and PPE requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency.

Requirements

• 6+ years of composite manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of experience with multiple composite processes, including hand lamination, bonding, high-tolerance cutting and drilling, assembly, and vacuum bagging for autoclave or oven curing.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and improving shop procedures and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, composite fabrication craftsmanship, organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on site during the assigned shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience leading teams in a high-rate aerospace or space production environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, AS9100, and NADCAP audit processes.
