Composites Technician - C Shift (Fri-Sun) (Aerospace)

Location: Huntington Beach, California, United States; on-site. C Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required ITAR authorizations.

Salary: $30–$45 per hour, based on relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Prepare, sand, polish, seal, release, and maintain composite tooling and molds.
• Lay up composite plies using templates, dimensions, or projection systems, and apply release film, peel ply, breather, and thermocouples.
• Build and install vacuum bags, perform leak tests, and run assigned cure cycles.
• Demold, trim, bond, and finish cured composite parts and assemblies.
• Document material usage, freeze/thaw status, cure data, and production activities in internal systems.
• Provide engineering feedback to improve manufacturing processes and part designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a technician in prepreg composites manufacturing.
• Knowledge of intensifiers and caul plates, adhesive films, core splicing, hard points, ply drops, and debulking.
• Ability to read and interpret layup books and process-control work instructions.
• Proficiency with calipers, scales, tape measures, torque wrenches, hand drills, and other measuring and assembly tools.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work hands-on in a production environment.
• Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements for work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace or motorsport.
• Experience with both autoclave and out-of-autoclave manufacturing.
• Experience with ply cutting, mold finishing and release, mold maintenance, lamination, bagging, curing, demolding, trimming, or finishing.
• Experience with VARTM, compression or hot-press molding, trapped rubber molding, or wet layup.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required by customer timelines.
