Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States. Site-based hybrid role requiring work from a hirify.global office or work location at least 3 days per week. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Salary: $141,500–$224,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $176,000–$264,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support enterprise server hardware, laboratory environments, and production data centers.
• Administer VMware, Active Directory, SAN storage, backup systems, and Linux and Windows servers.
• Build infrastructure and applications using advanced Linux administration skills.
• Write Puppet code and automation scripts in Python and Bash.
• Develop infrastructure solutions for customer needs and collaborate with hirify.global and customer engineering teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation while providing advanced customer support.

Requirements

• BA/BS in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise server hardware, administering Linux systems, and administering VMware.
• 3+ years managing SAN storage, Active Directory, Windows systems, and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or Salt.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, and Perl scripting.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including subnetting, VLANs, TCP, and UDP.
• US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
