Senior IT Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. The role involves access to ITAR-controlled information and requires the hire to be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.

Base salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year, plus company equity.

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, and administer Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VMware or Hyper-V environments.
• Design and maintain hybrid infrastructure across on-premises systems and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Lead infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and new system rollouts from planning through production deployment.
• Monitor performance and availability, identify bottlenecks, and resolve infrastructure failures.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions, including testing and documentation.
• Harden systems, apply patches, support compliance with NIST 800-171 or CMMC, and serve as a senior escalation point for Tier 3 issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT systems engineering or infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration, plus VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, firewalls, load balancers, identity and access management, LDAP, and SSO/MFA.
• Familiarity with Jira Service Management, ITIL practices, technical documentation, and communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, or Ansible.
• Additional experience supporting Azure or AWS cloud environments and Linux systems.
• Experience with identity and access management principles.
