Entry Level Chemical Operator (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States. On-site role working a rotating 12-hour shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and short-notice call-ins.

Salary: $28.86–$34.33 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate chemical processes and machine systems using computer systems or semi-automatic equipment.
• Monitor instruments, flow meters, panel lights, and warning signals to verify process conditions.
• Follow company, legal, ISO environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safe operating conditions.
• Coordinate with team members and leaders during shifts and handovers.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and collaborate on problem solving.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and short-notice call-ins.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds occasionally and perform climbing, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and overhead-reaching duties.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and respond to alarms.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hardhat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shield, and respirator as needed.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in a related field or manufacturing certification.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Experience with 5S, lean manufacturing, or other quality and process improvement programs.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, chemical reactions, or manufacturing processes.
