Senior Software Integration Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan; attendance at the specified location at least three times per week is required.

What you will do

• Lead software content, release timing, builds, testing, and validation for real-time propulsion controllers across EV, HEV, and PHEV applications.
• Create and maintain software delivery plans and Software Analysis, Development and Validation plans.
• Chair Software Execution Team Meetings and coordinate internal teams, suppliers, and engineering support personnel.
• Manage controller resources such as memory and CPU utilization, resolve technical obstacles, and escalate issues when needed.
• Ensure engineering process tasks are completed on schedule and document best practices to improve quality and development speed.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate the technical capabilities of team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of experience with real-time embedded software systems.
• Technical project leadership or project management experience.
• Hands-on experience developing real-time controls software with C, C++, Java, Assembly, Perl, or Python.
• Knowledge of Unix, Linux, embedded RTOS, instrumentation tools, configuration management systems, and build tools.
• Strong analytical, execution, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities for unusual and difficult problems.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• 8 or more years of experience with real-time embedded software systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile certifications, and configuration management or build tools.
• Production experience with automotive propulsion control systems, vehicle electrical architectures, and communication networks.
• DFSS Black-Belt certification.
