  • Build and maintain bootloaders, low-level drivers, middleware, and RTOS configurations.
  • Implement CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART communication interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and safety engineering teams on schematic review, board bring-up, and hardware-software co-debugging.
  • Develop unit, integration, and hardware-in-loop test strategies and support manufacturing tests and vehicle software deployment.
  • Investigate board-level and vehicle-level issues and integrate vehicle components with Tier 1 suppliers.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of production embedded firmware development in C/C++.
  • Experience with 32-bit ARM Cortex-M or similar automotive-grade microcontrollers, custom HALs, drivers, and middleware on bare-metal or lightweight RTOS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of safety-rated real-time operating systems and automotive communication protocols including CAN and LIN.
  • Experience with Git, Linux development environments, and hardware debugging tools such as SWD/JTAG, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience taking embedded systems from concept to production and working with safety-critical or fault-tolerant automotive, aerospace, or robotics systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262, functional safety, HARA, FMEA, and safety-case development.
  • Experience with modern C++ or Rust, Automotive Ethernet, TSN/gPTP, embedded security, MISRA compliance, and static analysis.
  • Python experience for test automation and scripting.
  • Experience augmenting firmware development with LLMs while maintaining engineering rigor.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a fast-moving, close-knit team of autonomous-vehicle industry veterans and innovative engineers.
  • Collaborate across hardware, software, systems, and safety engineering disciplines.
  • Contribute to autonomous transportation and zero-emissions freight technology.
  • Equal opportunity employment with consideration for qualified applicants regardless of protected characteristics.

Hiring process

  • Applications may be reviewed with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools.
  • A human reviews AI output and makes the final hiring decision; eligible applicants may have a legal right to opt out of AI use in the interview process.
