Hardware Manager (Satellite Communications)

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland. Swiss or EU citizenship required. Availability to travel to the US and across Europe is required.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a hardware engineering team within a multidisciplinary R&D organization.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of electronic hardware projects, from design and validation through industrialization and production readiness.
• Provide technical leadership for analog and mixed-signal electronics used in phased-array antennas and advanced communication systems.
• Drive system architecture decisions with RF, mechanical, and software engineering teams.
• Manage resources, hiring, priorities, risks, budgets, timelines, suppliers, contractors, and program deliverables.
• Lead design reviews, testing, documentation, verification, and compliance with performance, reliability, size, weight, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• MSc or equivalent degree in electronic engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of hardware or electrical engineering experience, including technical leadership.
• Experience managing teams or leading engineers informally.
• Strong expertise in analog and mixed-signal design, PCB design tools, and laboratory testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs.
• Experience across the full product lifecycle, including design, validation, and industrialization.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-speed interfaces, complex systems, satellite systems, RF architectures, FPGA, or microcontrollers.
• Experience designing for harsh environments such as aerospace or automotive.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and testing and familiarity with requirements management tools such as Jama.
• System-level architecture skills and the ability to scale and structure a hardware team.
