Substation Protection & Control Designer (Power Delivery)

What you will do

• Design and prepare protection and control drawings for high-voltage substations operating from 12kV to 500kV.
• Develop relay one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Prepare SCADA, communication, and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate with physical design, settings, and drafting disciplines to deliver high-quality design packages.
• Interpret vendor information, apply client standards, and support continuous technical improvement.
• Perform and verify company QA/QC processes for design deliverables.

Requirements

• AA degree or high school diploma.
• Experience with transmission substation design.
• At least 3 years of detailed wiring design experience, including single lines, schematics, and relay panels.
• At least 3 years of experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Inventor, and MicroStation.
• Understanding of AC/DC control diagrams and point-to-point wiring requirements.
• Must be based in the United States for the remote role.

Nice to have

• Ability to assist lead engineers with initial design requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Knowledge of techniques and tools for producing technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
