SATCOM Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States. US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required. The role may require up to 10% domestic and international travel and flexible scheduling in a 24x7 environment.

Salary: $98,000–$155,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $121,500–$182,500 annually.

What you will do

• Provide technical guidance and support for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hirify.global IFC and IFEC terminals.
• Coordinate with Aviation Operations, Quality Assurance, Materials Management, contract maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Analyze terminal reliability, historical data, metrics, trends, and log files to identify recurring and predictive failures.
• Use Splunk and Linux-based tools to investigate failures and recommend corrective actions to development engineering.
• Coordinate software testing, implementation, and over-the-air terminal software rollouts.
• Manage single-terminal investigations, repeat and chronic failure programs, and provide source data for technical training.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and triaging technical issues in a fast-paced customer support environment.
• Experience with network operations, product support, operational data analysis, and trending.
• Knowledge of Ku- or Ka-band RF equipment, antennas, standard test equipment, and communications theory.
• Experience working in a Linux networking environment with log analysis.
• Ability to provide on-the-job training related to Linux, SATCOM, and mobility-terminal troubleshooting.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

Nice to have

• Experience or knowledge of Splunk.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• Experience in the airline, commercial aviation, or business aviation industry and knowledge of its regulatory environment.
