Finance & Operations Engineer (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Own and extend the long-range P&L, cash forecast, scenario analyses, and department budgets.
• Track actuals against plan, prepare management reporting, and support month-end close activities with the Controller.
• Prepare board, investor, fundraising, and due-diligence materials, including financial analyses and data-room content.
• Build financial models for pricing, headcount ROI, capital allocation, make-versus-buy decisions, and partnership economics.
• Design finance data infrastructure, reporting pipelines, reconciliation workflows, variance alerts, and close checklists.
• Partner with department heads on forecasts, variance analysis, vendor management, contracts, compliance filings, and cross-functional operations.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or a similarly rigorous analytical role.
• Advanced financial modeling skills, including building clean and auditable models from scratch.
• Ability to independently complete significant work across concurrent projects and stakeholders.
• Strong written communication and sound judgment when working with incomplete information.
• Tech-forward finance operations experience, including AI tooling and familiarity with scripting or APIs.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems at the transaction level; NetSuite is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining finance data pipelines, automations, or integrations.
• Experience at a venture-backed Series A, B, or C startup.
• Exposure to investor relations, due diligence, or fundraising.
• Familiarity with Ramp, JustWorks, or similar spend management and HRIS platforms.
• Background in AI/ML, chemicals, biotech, life sciences, manufacturing, or another technically complex or industrial industry.
